Located in beautiful Nelson County on the Sunrise Side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. 11-5:30 pm .No fee. 540-456-8400 May 3 - Nelson Downriver Canoe & Kayak Race is suitable for experienced paddlers. Our goal is to promote recreation, conservation and sportsmanship through paddling rivers and lakes in and around Nelson County. The race is 8 miles of class I – II+ whitewater and typically takes from 80 to 100 minutes to complete. House and apple cider. 434-325-8180. October 26 - The 5th Annual Steeplechase at Oak Ridge Estate presented by Jubilee Family Center of Lynchburg, Virginia. This year’s event will feature selected races sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association and will bring top horses, riders, trainers and owners to the area. Get ready for the holiday season by bringing your family to the annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade in the village of Lovingston. The parade features floats, marching units, vehicles, animals and best of all Santa Claus. There are also civic clubs and street vendors selling food and beverages. December 20, 2008-January 1, 2009 - Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas.
