Camping for Tents, Pop-ups, Campers & R.V.'s |
Our campground is high in the hills of the
Blue Ridge Mountains located just 3 miles off the Blue Ridge
Parkway.
If you wish for your
camping experience to have all the elements of nature, then Montebello
is the place to be. We are surrounded by mountains, streams and
rivers. There are several hiking and nature trails nearby, along with
horseback riding. The Tye river winds along State Route 56 on the way
to Montebello and we are in the midst of the George
Washington National Forest. Crabtree Falls, the highest
cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi, is also
only a few miles away. We are also not too far from the
Appalachian Trail. Nelson County has an
abundance of historical places to visit along with many
wineries, orchards, and year round recreation.
Our campsites are shaded.
Pull-through sites are available for campers, as well as tent
sites. Full hook-up sites include electricity, water and
sewer. We can accommodate up to a 40ft. camper and our sites
are equipped with 30 amp service. We also offer 50 amp
service on select sites. Hot
showers, dressing areas and restrooms are in the Comfort
Station. Laundry facilities are also available. Each
campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. Pets are
welcome, but must be kept on a leash and picked up after.
The lake has several fishing docks and a
small beach area where campers can swim. We also rent paddle boats
and kayaks for the lake.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), a
non-native, invasive insect that attacks and kills all
species of ash trees, has been found in several states,
including
Virginia, resulting in the implementation of
state and federal quarantines to prevent the spread of
this destructive insect. The EAB quarantine prohibits the
movement of
all hardwood firewood
and other ash wood products out of the quarantined area.
Virginia localities quarantined for Emerald Ash Borer
include
Fairfax,
Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun,
and Prince William counties and the cities of
Alexandria,
Fairfax
City,
Falls Church,
Manassas, and
Manassas
Park.
The purpose of this notice is to
request your assistance in slowing the spread of this
devastating pest into the areas of
Virginia that are currently not infested with
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).
EAB has already killed
millions of ash trees throughout
Michigan,
Ohio,
Indiana,
Illinois,
Maryland,
Missouri, Pennsylvania,
Virginia,
West Virginia,
Wisconsin, and
Canada. Many of the known EAB infestations
have been linked to firewood usage in campgrounds.
EAB bores beneath the bark of
ash trees and can be very difficult to detect. As a
result, EAB has been moved great distances by unsuspecting
campers.
So please do your
part to prevent the spread of this disease and purchase
local firewood. Please check out the link for more
information regarding this subject.www.goodcamper.info/
